Writing’s Origin: This piece came to me through reflection as Christmas was approaching… thinking about what lies at the heart of it versus what we often end up doing… the practices and traditions that, over time, feel as though they have become some sort of habit, or even part of a consumer culture…

I remember that Christmas was when I tried to step away and break free from those familiar patterns and see what it would feel like to experience it differently…
