Who’s Destroying Whom In The First Place?

I’m not sure how much thought you’ve given this lately, but with the increase in heatwaves and weather abnormalities…

It’s hard to ignore the irony in the way we treat the very things we enjoy…

Where do we get shade when it’s too hot? — Parks.

Where do we go on holidays? — Seasides and Mountains.

What do we give each other for special occasions? — Flowers.

What do we bring into our homes and offices to make them lively? — Plants.

If we turn to nature for leisure, or as a gift — to others or ourselves…

How is it that trashing it is not just tolerated, but the norm, when doing nothing is still a choice…?

How is it that destroying it is not just part of some organisations’ business models, but something we actively endorse and invest in…?

And so, why are we even surprised by the fires, the flooding, the so-called “natural” disasters?

Who’s destroying whom in the first place?

So, I guess… this isn’t just a moment to pause and reflect…

And this is… beyond corporate social responsibility — which we know too often acts as a label, and even when is genuine, it’s rarely enough.

…So this is really an invitation for raising awareness and taking personal responsibility.
